Our story
A club built on long friendships and longer rallies
Margalla Tennis Club began the way the best clubs do — a handful of players, one court, and an understanding that the game is better shared. Mornings belong to the early risers and the mist on the hills. Evenings belong to the juniors, the doubles regulars, and whoever is willing to stay for one more set.
We are, above all, a family club. Grandparents hit with grandchildren here. Members who arrived as beginners now run our championships. What we protect is not exclusivity but character: courtesy on court, honesty in line calls, and a welcome for anyone who takes the game seriously and themselves lightly.

Learn the game properly, at any age
Our authorised coach runs junior groups, adult clinics and private lessons through the week, with hitting partners and ball boys available on request.

The founding story
Etzaz “ET” Azim — the founder, and the animator
ET was more than a founder. He was the club’s first animator — a man who believed that a tennis court could do what a dinner table or a conference room often could not: bring hearts and minds together across every kind of difference. Under his watch, the clay courts at Street 2, F-6/3, became a gathering ground for Islamabad residents and diplomat friends from every corner of the world. Ranks, passports, and accents dissolved the moment the first ball was struck. What began as a series of friendly games turned into a lifetime of alliances — friendships made over tennis that stretched from Islamabad to embassies, capitals, and homes far beyond Pakistan. ET didn’t just build a club; he built a common language, one rally at a time.

To ET, the club was never just a court. It was a reason for strangers to become neighbours, and neighbours to become a club. He organised the fixtures, argued for the floodlights, chased the funds and stayed until the last ball was collected. The culture he set — show up, keep your booking, leave the court better than you found it — still runs through every game played here.

Nighat Saeed
CEO of the Club
This club is not just a place to play tennis; it is a home built by people who show up, day after day, for one another.
For more than twenty years Nighat Saeed has been the steady heartbeat of Margalla Tennis Club — organising tournaments that bring generations together, planning the fundraising evenings that keep the lights on, and welcoming every new face through the gate. She served as General Secretary and now leads the club as CEO, with an unwavering belief that a neighbourhood tennis court can become the soul of a community.

Member spotlight
Sikandar Ajum
President
ET sahib turned an abandoned court into a commons. Every brushed line and every floodlit evening since has been paid for by the people who play here.
Sikandar has played at Margalla for over two decades, first as a weekend singles player and now as the volunteer who opens the gate before sunrise. He chairs the Management Committee, runs the summer tournament draw and still takes challenges on the ladder.
